| a very interesting faradi recipe By MAYURI SODHA (Rajkot).
Sama Chawal Dhokla is prepared with Sama / Vrat Ke Chawal, Aloo (Potatoes), Khatta Dahi (Sour Curd) and some simple ingredients. This instant farali dhokla needs do not require any prior fermentation and and gets ready under 30 minutes. It tastes delicious with a green chutney and masala chai.

1 Cup Sama / Vrat Ke Chawal
1 Big Size Aloo (Potato) – Chopped
½ Cup Khatta Dahi (Sour Curd)
2 (to taste) Hari Mirch (Green Chilli) – Chopped
1” Piece of Adrak (Ginger) – Chopped
1 tsp Chini (Sugar)
½ Nimbu Rass (Lemon Juice)
Sendha Namak (Rock Salt) – to taste
2 Tbsp Cooking Oil
CHATPATI CHUTNEY
1 Big Bowl Dhania Patta (Coriander Leaves) with stem
15 – 20 Pudina Patta (Mint Leaves)
2 (to taste) Hari Mirch (Green Chilli) – Chopped
1” Piece of Adrak (Ginger) – Chopped
2 Tbsp Roasted Shingdana (Peanuts)
1 tsp Chini (Sugar)
½ Nimbu Rass (Lemon Juice)
Sendha Namak (Rock Salt) – to taste
2-3 Tbsp Water
2-3 Tbsp Dhania Patta (Coriander Leaves) – Finely Chopped
1 tsp Eno – Regular Flavour
Kali Mirch (Black Pepper) Coarse Powder – to sprinkle
FOR TEMPERING
3 Tbsp Cooking Oil
1 tsp Jeera (Cumin)
1 tsp Safed Til (White Sesame)
8-10 Kadi Patta (Curry Leaves)
1 Hari Mirch (Green Chilli) – Chopped
Some Dhania Patta (Coriander Leaves) – Finely Chopped
