Alexander Springs Recreation Area is located along CR 445 in the northeast corner of Lake County between Astor and Altoona in Ocala National Forest. Across the street is a blue blazed connector trail that leads you out onto the Florida Trail. That is where I started on this hike and is a very nice area to explore and the bonus is you can take a dip in the springs over at Alexander.
