In this video we explore the dethatcher cartridge for the Stirling mower. This cartridge features an aggressive, hook-shaped blade designed to remove thatch and promote better drainage. The wider spacing of the blades allows for deeper penetration into the ground. It is recommended for use in springtime for pre-season renovations or in autumn to prepare the lawn for winter. The 14 millimetre deep slots created by the dethatcher help remove thatch, improve water penetration and prevent wet and squishy lawns during winter. This cartridge is also suitable for overseeding as the wider and more open slots provide space for new plants. Multiple passes in different directions preferably in a diamond pattern ensure optimal slot coverage before seeding. The video showcases the dethatcher in action effectively removing plants and thatch improving air circulation in the thatch layer and encouraging new plant growth. With proper irrigation and nutrient supply fresh plant populations can thrive in the slots.
