Machu Picchu was written by Sue Smith (Saving Mr Banks), and stars Lisa McCune and Darren Gilshenan as Paul and Gabby, two mid-life civil engineers whose lives are forever changed after a car accident which leaves Paul as a C6 quadriplegic. Exploring mindfulness, altruism and the challenge of staying true to oneself, this love-story is alternately heart-breaking and mordantly humorous as the couple try to come to terms with their new way of life.
A theatrically-rich production, Machu Picchu is a celebration of courage that explodes belief that bad things only happen to other people.
Machu Picchu plays the Dunstan Playhouse from 13 April - 1 May. Book tickets at BASS on 131 246 or BASS Online.
