TASC is very honoured to host the Taoiseach at the launch of our dialogues on a Shared Island.
About this event
The Irish Government’s Shared Island Initiative "aims to harness the full potential of the Good Friday Agreement to enhance cooperation, connection and mutual understanding on the island and engage with all communities and traditions to build consensus around a shared future”.
The dialogue series of events will include leaders and influencers in both jurisdictions and aim to advance a clearer understanding of what a ‘Shared Island’ could look like, especially in relation to policy responses and knowledge exchange regarding inequality, diversity and social inclusion.
The Taoiseach will speak to his vision of a Shared Island and the event will be facilitated by Laura Taylor, Lecturer/Assistant Professor in the School of Psychology, University College Dublin. Laura also holds an affiliation with the Centre for Identity and Intergroup Relations in the School of Psychology at Queen's University Belfast.
Please join us at 5pm.
The Shared Island initiative involves:
1. Working with the Northern Ireland Executive and the British Government to address strategic challenges faced on the island of Ireland.
2. Further developing the all-island economy, deepening North/South cooperation, and investing in the North West and border regions.
3. Fostering constructive and inclusive dialogue and a comprehensive programme of research to support the building of consensus around a shared future on the island.
