The Indian Air Force deployed a chopper for fire-fighting operation in Uttarakhand. It carried out the operation in forests of Koti Colony area of Tehri Garhwal. The water collected from Tehri lake was sprinkled with a 5000-litre capacity bucket. The IAF has also sent another chopper for the fire-fighting operation. Uttarakhand is witnessing unprecedented forest fires, officials informed. Forest fire activity is generally reported in Uttarakhand from February to June, with a peak in fire incidents in May and June.
