Researchers at the Wal-yan Respiratory Research Centre are one step closer to preventing asthma in children.
In this study, Wal-yan Centre and The University of Western Australia PhD student Niamh Troy discovered how OM85 (an immune-boosting treatment) improved babies’ immune responses to severe lung infections, which in-turn could prevent children from developing asthma later in life.
The Wal-yan Respiratory Research Centre is a powerhouse partnership between Telethon Kids Institute, Perth Children's Hospital Foundation and Perth Children's Hospital.
