America's Got Talent 2016 Jon Dorenbos Demystified (Magic revealed)
We made another demo to show how the chest works: [ Ссылка ]
This video explains the concept behind Jon Dorenbo's trick in the live show on AGT 2016. There is no doubt his exact method may not be the same. Here we like to present what's the most probable. Look at it as the basic principle of their act.

FAQ:
Q: Jon put the small map into the journal while walking to the judges.
A: No. He didn't. 1. location of the rubber bands changed, this suggested the journal was switched. 2. If he needed to do that, he should do that earlier. It was an unnecessary risk to do this when he was so close to the judges. 3. THE video frame that looked like the journal was opened was a reflection of the ceiling stage lights on the black cover. 4. Most importantly, the journal was held closed by THREE rubber bands. Two white horizontal ones, and a black vertical one. Pay special attention to the journal. Jon removed the first white rubber band, and then he removed the 2nd white rubber band while holding the journal in his left arm. The black vertical rubber band was not removed until Mel B did. So Jon had no easy access to the inside of the journal all along.
Q: You wrong. The calculator is a remote control to drop coins in the chest.
A: If true, Jon is stupider than we think. Yes, it IS possible the chest has all these electronics to dispense coins as you suggested Many tricks can be explained by electronics nowadays. We also had this possibility considered when making the video. Ask yourself, why would Jon be handling the remote control and disguise it as a calculator? Wouldn't it make more sense to have an assistant controlling the remote so nobody sees it in the first place? Besides, Jon was the one in front of the camera under pressure taking care of multiple variables on-stage. If an electronic chest was used, the remote control was much better handle by someone off camera. Someone who was doing ONLY ONE TASK handling the remote. Furthermore, an assistant was behind the map anyways to put stickers on a small map. It was logical to use him to prepare coins for the chest as well. This is called team work. This is more probable than using electronics. We do know some people are inspired by Jon's AGT act for a new business opportunity. They start posting Jon's chest and promoting their new electronic chest online for thousands of $. You may choose to believe them. We stick with our logical answer that costs under $100. Being logical is the key in our solutions.
Q: There are super magnets attracting the football towards the map
A: This started as a joke online. If not, I admire your imagination. Go find out how much power and equipment it takes to create that kind of magnetic field. This would probably be the size of an MRI scanner which costs over a million. And if magnets were really used, Simon would not miss his first throw.
Q: You should not reveal other people's trick. You are a hater.
A: In the business world, if you steal confidential information from other companies, reveal it or re-use it, you are in the wrong both legally and ethically. However, if you figure out how others do what they do yourself, it is 100% legal to share whatever you find. The intention is not to ruin the fun. The intention is also not to ruin the reputation of performers. Contrary, by understanding what's behind the trick, we learn how to perform an illusion and truly appreciate how much talent it takes for performers to plan out a trick. For example, you don't understand the theory of Relativity, you don't understand how great Albert Einstein is. He is just another Nobel prize winner to you, isn't he? Besides, we have the same thought as Valentino [ Ссылка ] despite we are not magicians.
Q: If you are so smart, why don't you go to AGT yourself instead of revealing other's trick?
A: We have never made any claim who are smarter. It is not the purpose of our videos to show off what we can do. Instead, the purpose is to show what we like to do: analyze, share and educate. That's all. In fact, some acts are not analyzable due to different factors. Some acts just don't have enough information display on TV for analysis and for us to draw any reasonable conclusions.
