Thundering Bassline by Billy Sherwood on the brand new song by YES, from their latest album called,
Mirror to the Sky. This bassline features many riffs recalling the signature style of the late and great Chris Squire. A vintage Rickenbacker 4001 bass -- aged fifty (50) years has been selected for this bass cover video to do honor, and highlight the brilliant bass playing style of Billy and Chris, while showcasing the Thundering Tone of this vintage Rickenbacker bass--with no extra sound processors or pre-amps, and to pay Tribute to the YES, a fantastic band that I have personally loved and followed since 1972. I transcribed this bassline from scratch in 2 days and spent a day tweaking it, and so am reading five (5) pages of standard notation in order to try and be faithful to the original recording.
