The Hidden Paradise of Kahramanmaraş.
Başkonuş Plateau, located within the borders of Kahramanmaraş Forest Management Directorate, is a natural wonder plateau that contains many endemic plants, especially Hyacinth and Salep, and is a frequent destination for migratory birds. The forest, consisting of fir, cedar, oak and juniper trees, preserves its natural structure with its colorful flowers and endemic plants, while also hosting deer and birds.

Başkonuş Plateau was established as a deer breeding station in 1987, and years later the deers were released into nature. It is estimated that there are approximately 250-300 deer in the area.

Başkonuş Plateau has gained private enterprise status since 2011 and started to be managed by the Erdoğanyılmaz family.

The entrance part of the plateau is arranged as A Type Recreation Area. Within the boundaries of this area, there are Başkonuş Restaurant, Bungalow Orman Evleri, Tent Camping area, Caravan Camping area, picnic areas, sports fields, children's playgrounds, activity areas such as ATV, horseback riding, sledding, Özgür Animal Garden and walking paths, and the construction of other facilities. is continued.

The altitude of the accommodation area is around 1325m. Experts state that this height is very suitable for human health. In addition, the moist air coming from the Mediterranean is mixed with the oxygen produced by Juniper, Cedar and Fir trees, creating a healthy environment that strengthens the immune system. Tourists are welcomed with care with its different beauties and therapeutic beautiful weather in summer and winter.

For years, many cancer patients have been treated here with the advice of a doctor, and these have been concretely documented and identified.

The first priority of Başkonuş Plateau management is to take care of the animals and the forest, which are the hosts of nature. The business takes care of fawns left motherless in nature; It meets the nutritional and care needs of these puppies. Animals that have completed their rehabilitation are released into nature if they are ready to live in nature. The care of animals whose health condition is not ready to be released into the wild is undertaken for life.
