Hello everyone to another car commercial of the past! In today's car commercial, we have a rather unique commercial of the iconic, 1972 Volkswagen Beetle, featuring the Beetle, actually testing its buoyancy in the water. Lets get into the vehicle specifications shall we?
The sole engine for the 1972 Beetle was a 1,600 CC, Flat 4 Engine, that produced 60 Horsepower. This engine of the Beetle had twin port cylinder heads and a large oil cooler.
The Beetle had a rear engine, rear wheel drive layout (RR Layout.) The base transmission for the 1972 Beetle was a 4 speed manual transaxle, with a 3 or 4 speed semi automatic transmissions being available as options.
The base MSRP for the Beetle in 1972 (as shown in the commercial) was $1,999, which is $11,402 in 2015, reasonable for the time.
