The effects of ongoing load shedding in South Africa have far-reaching impacts on cities, placing more strain on residences, businesses and municipalities. Despite a number of contingency measures, Eskom's non-stop bouts of load shedding at high stages, including Stage 6, have been impacting city infrastructures in a significantly negative way.
The country's municipal substations are increasingly blowing up, adding to South Africans' electricity woes.
