It’s time to test drive and review the 2024 Lexus LC 500!

The LC 500 isn’t just an under-appreciated car — it’s also lesser known outside of car circles. “LC” stands for “Luxury Coupe,” and the full name of this particular car is actually the 2024 Bespoke Build Lexus LC 500 Coupe.

The LC 500 comes with a naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V8 engine (no turbos here!). The car makes 471 horsepower and 398 pound-feet of torque, and all of that goes through a 10-speed automatic to the rear wheels — sending this two-door hardtop from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 4.4 seconds. 

The cost of the LC 500 also hasn’t risen a ton in the past few years. The first LC, which debuted in the 2010s, started at $92,000. This one starts at $97,700. The price hasn’t grown at nearly the rate of inflation.

Lexus doesn’t sell a lot of LC 500s, in spite of their inflation-proof status. But there are still all kinds of models: convertibles, coupes, hybrids (called the LC 500h), and limited-edition models like the “Inspiration Series.” This car comes in Ultrasonic Blue Mica, one of the LC 500’s many beautiful exterior colors, and people often mistake it for Lexus’ famous Structural Blue. The first time I drove this car, I knew I wanted to be an LC 500 owner one day. Whether that happens is still to be determined, but the LC is one of the greatest cars of our era — and ownership of it should be an honor for anyone. I hope this video shows you what I mean.
