Short, medium and long-term corruption trends for the Solomon Islands and neighbouring Pacific Island countries are presented in this video using scores published by Transparency International in their 2023 Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) report.
The video reviews the Solomon Islands’ performance in addressing corruption in the periods 2012-2023, 2018-2023 and 2022-2023.
The Solomon Islands CPI score increased slightly in 2016-2023. The country’s CPI score moved in a relatively small range in the latter period.
The rate of change in the country’s CPI score exceeded the rate of change in average Asia/Pacific and global CPI scores in 2016-2023 and 2018-2023 but was considerably lower than the rate of change in average Pacific Islands CPI scores in these periods.
The Solomon Islands CPI score has been slightly less than average Asia/Pacific and global CPI scores during the majority of the 2016-2023 period. #corruption #solomonislands #pacificisland
