A 3 day hike by the Canberra Explorers to celebrate their 4th anniversary to the northern sector of the Budawangs. A circuit beginning in Meangora Rd near Nerriga cross Endrick River & walk along the Red Ground Track cross Endrick River again, then at the Vines use the Mt Tarn Track down to Hidden Valley & try to climb Mt Sturgiss then down to Styles Plains & follow the Styles Creek Walking Track
to the Round Mountain firetrail back to our cars. That was the plan & how it used to be in the past the present is quite different, since the bushfires of 2020 the Mt Tarn Track has been severely overgrown you can follow it for a while but so few people are using it that unfortunately these area have been lost to bushwalkers in such a short period of time. The bush has reclaimed the track & unless NSW National Parks conducts track maintenance & is able to organize with bushwalking volunteers to open up these tracks ( like they have in the past) areas like Hidden Valley will be hidden & will only be remembered in the past tense.
