As you all know, Raiders of the Lost Ark's Peru opening is in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.

This is no coincidence.

In Raiders, Indy returns to Barnett College and gives Marcus 2 stones, saying "They're good pieces, Marcus"

In trailers for Great Circle, we see stones of the same size and various shapes.

I believe that this is the connection. Indy is collecting these pieces from around the world that fit together like a puzzle. In this way, Indy's Peru adventure is the start of both his quest for the ark and his quest for the Great Circle. Thoughts?
