(29 Apr 2014) Acting Ukrainian President Oleksandr Turchynov urged lawmakers to adopt a new constitution on Tuesday.
Oleksandr Turchynov said Ukraine would "continue with a policy of change" despite "Russia's aggression" against the country.
He also said that Russia was trying to prevent Ukraine from "advancing along the European path".
Interim prime minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk said the constitution should be approved before the 25 May presidential election.
Moscow has repeatedly pushed for a referendum on federal autonomy in Ukraine, but Kiev and its Western allies have refused, accusing Russia of fomenting separatist sentiment to foil the May presidential vote.
