The Olympic flame has advanced to the ancient Acropolis Hill in Athens. The torch was lit during a ceremony using a parabolic mirror in ancient Olympia, the site of the original Greek Games. The flame will cover roughly 2,000 kilometres ahead of its handover at Panathenian Stadium in Athens. The Russian leg of the journey will cover 65-thousand kilometres before the Winter Games begin on February 7, 2014.
