Leeko asks a simple question: is the European approach to solving food security challenges in Africa the right solution? She's referring to a system where supermarket specifications inform volume, look, and price and where these factors ultimately determine who gets to eat and what they eat. In South Africa, this approach results in 9 million tons of food getting thrown away every year and 1 in 4 people going to bed hungry.
