Palestinian member of the Israeli Knesset, discusses the Knesset's recent vote to formally strip Palestinians living in Israel of equal citizenship (these Palestinians comprise 20% of the population of Israel proper) at Palestine Museum US. MK Touma-Sliman—a prominent feminist activist, founder of the Women Against Violence Association and former editor of Al-Ittihad newspaper—heads the Knesset's Committee for the Advancement of the Status of Women. She recently called for a hearing on the impact of the Israeli blockade of Gaza on women. On her US tour, MK Touma-Sliman had planned to address Israeli-stoked violence in Gaza and the continued theft of land and homes, but instead will address this new piece of legislation that effectively legalizes apartheid. We look forward to sharing this experience with you!
