Acoustic battens can play a key role in reducing impact sound transmission between separating floors.
With a typical timber joist floor construction, sound has the potential to transmit through and be a nuisance to properties or rooms below.
To address this situation, acoustic battens can help. They stop sound transmission in its tracks through the integration of a resilient layer attached to high quality planed timber.
They are used to create a service void under floors which can be filled with sound absorber slabs like Hush-Slab 100 to reduce airborne sound transmission too.
Hush Acoustics offers two types of acoustic battens supplied in 1.8m and 2.4m lengths:
- Hush-Batten 55 – a 55mm acoustic batten
- Hush-Batten 70 – a larger 75mm acoustic batten
Bespoke sizes are also available.
They are easy to install and enable floor/ceiling constructions to achieve the Building Regulations requirements of all the UK nations, as well as being a part of Robust Details specifications.
