It's a Battacor. Already known for being strong because it has multiplicative GunCO on the Primary Fire mode. The Altfire has misleading stats; AoE is base 20% CC, 2.0x CD and 50% SC. This makes it a solid candidate for Electric Ragdoll shenanigans. And the direct hit altfire retains super high crit for killing priority targets. While Altfire is bad against Acolytes, you equip GunCO even on Altfire builds after the augment, Sentient Barrage, releases. This means you can finish off the Acolyte with the multiplicative GunCO scaling.
Sentient Barrage is important not because of the crit buffs. It's important because it gives infinite body punchthrough and self-refilling charges. The punchthrough is required to make up for the augment removing the hitscan AoE. But the self-refill on charges makes the altfire spammable in grouping setups. The only thing that made Ambassador, the king of ragdoll grouping DPS, better than Battacor, was no need to charge to fire an altfire. But now Sentient Barrage lets you do just that. No ammo usage on the altfire either, and you never have to reload, previously only doable with a Blood Forge Garuda on Ambassador.
Ragdoll has Quadratic scaling hitboxes since every limb is considered a separate eligible hitbox. This only works for hitscan AoE, and electric chaining, which Ambassador both has by default. Battacor has to be modded for Electric, but this is overcome by the infinite body punchthrough the augment grants, in exchange for losing the hitscan AoE. Because the direct hit can be boosted by GunCO, and you refill shots so long as you shoot in groups, Battacor becomes way more spammable, and producing a ridiculous amount of procs even without the Hitscan AoE. The Electric procs will then still be able to cross-chain ragdoll and kill everything off in 1-2 shots.
