The top 3 animations are of a 3-2-1 euler angle sequence. The top left is a pure Z rotation (blue), top middle is pure y rotation (green), and top right is a pure x rotation (red). Notice X-Y-Z corresponds with red-green-blue (the primary colors).
On the bottom is an example 3-2-1 euler angle sequence. This is a sequence first about the body z axis, then the body y axis, and finally the body x axis. Notice that the only rotation in this sequence that is about an inertial vector is the first one (z rotation), since the body frame begins aligned with the inertial frame. Euler angle rotations refer to rotations about the body frame axis, which is changing throughout the sequence (as can be seen in the animation at the bottom).
