This plenary session looks at how data are often interwoven into global priorities such as climate change, conflict, and disaster. How mobilizing and developing the technology and tools for generating these data are necessary for the required responses to these priorities. Why more partnerships and contributions from national statistics organizations and the private sector can build a better data ecosystem at the local, national, regional and international levels. What capacity national statistics organizations need to take on a more comprehensive leadership role alongside support from the wider data community. How can these trends strengthen the implementation of the Cape Town Global Action Plan and be reflected in an updated version of the plan launched at this Forum.
