On July 18, 1946, Dr. Fritz Sauter concluded his Closing Arguments on behalf of Baldur von Schirach. He declared that Schirach's confession was unique among defendants. He pleaded to the Tribunal to take that into account in its judgment. He concluded that Schirach "through his plain speaking prevented the creation of a Hitler legend in the future."
