The Jamstik MIDI Guitar controller has been around for quite some time now, so it was interesting to me to see how little information there was to find about its actual MIDI/MPE capabilities. Neither scouring the Internet nor reaching out to Jamstik’s own support provided any real answers. But instead of hard answers, the good guys over at Jamstik provided me with something even better, the opportunity to find out for myself. So they kindly sent me this Jamstik to test, to set up with a breath controller, and to find the answers to all the questions I had. And there were a lot of questions. I have just barely scraped the surface here by using the breath controller and checking the MPE dimensions covered by their use of a ”String envelope” Aftertouch concept. There is so much more, but we need to start somewhere.

For a nonjudgemental place to discuss different setups and solutions, I would like to invite you to take a look at my Patreon page. It is very much thanks to my Patrons that I get to do stuff like this. You can ask for technical solutions or even suggest topics for coming videos. You are all welcome:

Personally, I am not comfortable with affiliate links (especially with what has just happened)), so I opt not to use them here on my channel. The team at Jamstik has been awesome and offers a small commission for any sales I refer (anyway?), so if you're interested in purchasing a Jamstik, feel free to use this link to grab yours and perhaps let them know where you come from?
