Dedicated to India's first recipient of Param Veer Chakra (PVC) - Major Somnath Sharma, the warrior of Battle of Badgam who led 4th Company of Kumaon Regiment in INDO-PAK war, back in 1947. He also served in Burma during the Arakan Campaign of World War-2.
For his gallantry and sacrifice during the Battle of Badgam, he was posthumously awarded the Param Vir Chakra.
