People often think that palm oil plantations are the main cause of the fires and haze last year, but there's no palm oil plantation in Sabangau Forest and it still burnt. Sabangau burnt because of drainage canals dug in the peatland when the forest was illegally logged 15 years ago making the habitat very dry.

Now, we try to replant burnt areas in Sabangau Forest. We'll start on 15-19 November 2016.
