As I plow my way through the Mazda lineup, we have the brand’s newest offering: the 2023 CX-50 Meridian Edition here in Polymetal Gray over Terracotta leather with the Turbo engine: $41k USD. And well, I think it could be a lot better. I had a blast in the CX-50 Turbo Premium Plus in November, and for just $2k-$3k, it is definitely worth the upgrade over the Meridian Edition which lacks LOTS of needed features even for a “Soft off roader”. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

🏁 @Alllcarnews Spec sheet: The CX-50 rides on the same architecture as the Mazda 3 & CX-30 and here it features the torquey 2.5L Turbo 4-cylinder making 256HP and 320 lb-ft of torque through a 6-speed auto to all four wheels. It also tows 1,500lbs more than the CX-5 at 3,500lbs. Oh and it weighs around 3,800-3,900lbs too. 0-60 around 6.6seconds. 🏁

+The looks are a HUGE positive here. Mazda spend 2 years on the design alone and it paid off well. The CX-50 starts at just $28k but can rise up to this fully loaded model.

- While I love Mazda’s weighted steering, the CX-50 feels too heavy and even more so with these All Terrain tires.

+The interior is nice but not the best from Mazda, and feels too premium for an “off road” trim, especially with this tester not having standard all-weather floor mats.

-The Meridian Edition ONLY adds the wheel/tire package and hood graphics… that’s it. It would be nice to have a 360 Camera, a heated steering wheel, greater ground clearance, a softer suspension, and better approach/departure angles.
