استالیف، یک روستای کوچک واقع در شمال کابل، به دلیل سنت غنی سفالگری که قدمت آن به بیش از 400 سال می رسد، مشهور است. این روستا در دامنه‌های خوش منظره‌ی کوه‌های هندوکش قرار دارد و خاک رس قرمز منحصربه‌فرد آن به دلیل کیفیت بالا و رنگ متمایزش شناخته می‌شود.

سفالگران محلی در استالیف طیف وسیعی از اقلام کاربردی و تزیینی از جمله بشقاب، کاسه، گلدان، قوری و سایر وسایل خانه را ایجاد می کنند. هر قطعه به صورت جداگانه با دست، با استفاده از تکنیک‌های سنتی که از نسل‌های مختلف صنعت‌گران منتقل شده، ساخته می‌شود.
