I recently had this Slingerland Maybell banjo ukulele restored by Marc Glickman in Frederick, MD, who places its construction as circa 1920. One of the things I really like about it is that although it plays the same as my ukulele (a Lanikai concert size model), the two could not have more opposite sounds. I don't know many songs yet, so I'm just using a scale and a blues chord progression as an example here.
