Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar held a high-level meeting over the ongoing violence in Sasaram and Biharsharif. He asked the police force to be on alert and assured that strict action would be taken against those involved in the violence.
CM Kumar also announced an ex-gratia amount of Rs 5 lakh for the next of kin of the deceased. The violence has resulted in several deaths and injuries, and security has been beefed up following the re-eruption of clashes in the region.
According to reports, a total of 10 companies, approximately 1,000 personnel, have been sent to Bihar. The additional forces will be sent following a request from the Bihar government. Nalanda Police on April 2 said more than 77 people were arrested in raids, while the situation in Biharsharif is now completely normal.
Meanwhile, Home Minister Amit Shah is on a two-day visit to the state. In Nawada, Shah spoke at a rally where he accused the Nitish Kumar government of failing to curb violence in the state. This is Shah's fourth visit to Bihar since the BJP lost power in the state.
The recent violence in Bihar has raised concerns over the law and order situation in the state. The clashes erupted after a communal issue emerged between two communities. The situation escalated quickly, leading to several deaths and injuries.
The Bihar government has taken several steps to control the situation and ensure the safety of the citizens. However, the situation remains tense in several parts of the state, and the police have advised people not to believe in rumors.
The state government has also appealed to the people to maintain peace and harmony and not indulge in any kind of violence. The police have been directed to take strict action against anyone who tries to create trouble in the state.
The ongoing violence in Bihar has also sparked political reactions, with opposition parties blaming the Nitish Kumar government for failing to control the situation. However, the government has assured that it is taking all necessary measures to restore peace and maintain law and order in the state.
