Can an amateur cyclist beat a seasoned bike racer in a 1 lap pursuit race around the iconic Brands Hatch motor racing circuit in the UK?

In chapter 1 of ‘The Road To Champagne’, ex-pro roadie turned gravel racer, Nico Roche, takes on full time dad and keen amateur cyclist Simon Hooper in a race around Brands Hatch, before leaving the circuit and kicking off their epic journey across the English channel to Champagne. After a quick recon of the track in the stunning Aston Martin DB12, they hop on their new Bianchi Oltre RCs and push their Michelin Powercup tyres to the absolute limit around Brands Hatch’s classic circuit.

The Road To Champagne chronicles Nico Roche & Simon Hooper’s cycling journey from the South of the UK to Champagne in the North East of France. They’ll ride and drive 485km together, with assistance from LeBlanq’s assistant DS Laura Senior, as they tackle winding lanes, steep bergs, and challenging conditions on the way to their final destination; The Avenue De Champagne - where they meet a very special guest; 3x Tour de France winner Greg Lemond.
