Community Helper Day at Barkers Mill Elementary was a mix of fun and education as students had the chance to meet people from across the community. Students saw the various careers essential for a thriving community, from logistics and transportation to first responders and military units.
Cindy Croley is a former firefighter who now serves as a Kindergarten teacher. She said her students are excited about meeting people and asking questions. "It's to educate them, to know what they can do in the future, and understand what these people do for our community," she said. "They've had so much fun today."
