On this project, the floor was rotten

Floor joists had snapped because they were so wet

The floorboards you are able to put your hand through it was that soft

So our job was to come in and fix this issue

How we did, that was the following

We remove the floor and prepared the area for new floor joists and flooring

Whilst we were under the floor, we located the correct area below the floor, joist where we would then install an air brick

This allows for ventilation to pass from the outside into the inside of the house, ventilating underneath the floor

We used a telescopic air vent, which gives us the ability to move the vent up and down to our desired height

In this case, the air brick was on the damp course externally and our telescopic vent, then dropped down around 300 mm internally, and by doing this, the air flow from outside can come into the air brick ventilate through and down the telescopic vent inside of the house, circulating around the underside of the floor
