Imran Ahmed Khan Niazi born 5 October 1952 is a Pakistani politician and former international cricketer who is the 22nd Prime Minister of Pakistan.He is also the chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). Previously, he was a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan from 2002 to 2007, and again from 2013 to 2018. He played international cricket for two decades, and later developed philanthropic projects such as the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital & Research Centre and Namal College.Khan was born to an upper-middle class Pashtun family in Lahore, Punjab, in 1952; he was educated at Aitchison College in Lahore, then the Royal Grammar School Worcester in Worcester, England, and later at Keble College, Oxford. He started playing cricket at the age of 13. Initially playing for his college and later for Worcestershire, Khan made his debut for the Pakistan national cricket team at the age of 18, during the 1971 series against England at Edgbaston, Birmingham. After graduating from Oxford, he made his home debut for Pakistan in 1976, and played until 1992. He also served as the team's captain intermittently between 1982 and 1992. Notably, he led Pakistan to victory at the 1992 Cricket World Cup, Pakistan's first and only victory in that competition.
Abdul Aleem Khan is a Pakistani politician who has been a member of the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab since August 2018. He served as a Provincial Minister of Punjab for Local Government and Community Development from 27 August 2018 to 6 February 2019.Previously he was a member of the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab from 2003 to 2007 and served as Provincial Minister of Punjab for Information Technology for the same period.Khan made his political debut in 2002 and ran for the seat of the National Assembly of Pakistan as a candidate of Pakistan Muslim League (Q) (PML-Q) from Constituency NA-127 (Lahore-X) in Pakistani general election, 2002 but was unsuccessful. He received 20,545 votes and lost the seat to Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri.He was elected to the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab as a candidate of PML-Q from Constituency PP-147 (Lahore-XI) in by-election held in January 2013.He received 18,059 votes and defeated Ameer ul Azim, a candidate of Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA).On 15 November 2003, he was inducted into the provincial Punjab cabinet of Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi and was appointed as Provincial Minister of Punjab for Information Technology. He remained as Provincial Minister of Punjab for Information Technology till 2007.
