This is an unusual record. It was a hit by both Guy Mitchell and Marty Robbins, but both were on Columbia records. Marty was pissed because his own company did that. As a result his next session was also recorded in New York like the pop artists instead of Nashville. The result was White Sport Coat.
I was a beginning weekend DJ at KEEN in San Jose in 1955. I was the emcee at a country show being promoted by the station. I met Marty Robbins backstage before this record came out a year later.
He was very friendly. He had really curly hair, and he advised me that I should save my rainwater, to wash my hair. Good advice. Now if i just had a rain barrel. lol Ah, the memories.
I want to thank MixerRog for being kind enough to provided both a great copy of the source, but converting it to stereo was a real bonus and I'm sure my subscribers will appreciate it. Check out his channel.

A new CD will soon be released that will include the Guy Mitchell version along with so many other great tracks from Jimmie Rodgers to Bob Wills and dozens of others, including the Hank Williams stereo tracks that I have posted here.
