This dish is made of ceramic (unglazed) and approx. 4" in diameter. Used with a Borax Bar and water - a receptacle in which to form a paste. Due to the ceramic texture, when the bar is moved in a circular motion on the bottom of the dish, fine deposits of the bar are left in the water, thus forming a flux paste.
The Borax Dish can also be used to mix other fluxes.
Always ensure the dish is clean - any 'foreign' substances mixed with the flux may affect the soldering process.
