Evidence is becoming an even more important aspect of policy formation, as policymakers demand that government programs achieve their goals. Many federal government programs now have evidence requirements embedded in them, and the Trump administration recently released its Federal Data Strategy, a 10-year vision for how government agencies can build data capacity and leverage data as a strategic asset.
At the end of the 115th Congress, the president signed into law the bipartisan Foundations for Evidence-Based Policymaking Act. How has the law been implemented thus far? And what are the next steps for evidence-based policymaking?
Join AEI as former Speaker of the House Paul Ryan moderates a panel discussing the intent of the Evidence Act and the next steps in evidence-based policymaking at the federal, state, and local levels.
