Added update: I just caught this same rainbow in September of 2021. That’s 3 years after this video was taken. Fish was caught again maybe an eighth of a mile downstream from where I first caught it. They must come to the same general area year after year.
Drifting an egg pattern for rainbow trout and dolly varden during prime season on the upper Kenai River in Alaska south of Anchorage. I'm wading in extremely fast water pouring out of a side channel and a hookup with any substantial trout proves quite the challenge to bring to the net, or in my case because I hate landing nets, bring to hand. Warning: beautiful scenery.
