This year we celebrated Nowruz in a different setting due to the freedom movement in Iran. On March 25th, we came together at our solidarity event, “For Iran” at ScotiaBank Arena to welcome the arrival of spring and use the transformative power of arts to send a collective message of hope and support to the people in Iran who are fighting for their fundamental human rights.
For Iran included live performances by renowned artists and empowering speeches by social, political and human rights leaders from Canada, the United States, and Europe which spread the voice of the people of Iran to the global community.
امسال، به دلیل تداوم جنبش آزادی‌خواهی و دادخواهی در ایران، نوروز را به شکلی متفاوت گرامی داشتیم. ما در روز ۲۵ مارس گرد هم آمدیم تا در همایش ملی-فرهنگی «برای ایران» در تورنتو، «اسکوشیا بانک آرینا» فرا رسیدن بهار را گرامی بداریم و با استفاده از نیروی دگرگون کننده هنر، پیامی امیدبخش را به مردم دلیر ایران که برای رسیدن به آزادی تلاش می‌کنند بفرستیم.
برنامه‌ی «برای ایران» شامل اجراهای اعتراضی از هنرمندان بزرگ ایرانی و سخنرانی‌هایی از سیاستمداران و فعالان اجتماعی و حقوق بشری سرشناس از کانادا، آمریکا، و اروپا بود که صدای جنبش زن، زندگی، آزادی و دادخواهی مردم ایران را به گوش جامعه‌ی جهانی رساند.
