Team Big Dirty Goats Racing and the 24 hours of Starvation Ridge enduro. This was my first offroad race, and was a total blast. 1030 Saturday October 14th to 1030 Sunday October 15th.
The team members normally race on nice smooth pavement at high velocities with the Washington Motorcycle Road Racing Association (WMRRA) but have been enjoying the dirt lately too.
I'm definitely a novice dirt rider, this was my fifth outing on a dirt bike. Need more seat time to get some speed! Also, night riding is SUPER FUN, get some quality lights and go at it.
THANK YOU to my teammates and all they bring to the event including snarky commentary and general hilarity. Big thanks to Micah for bringing a tarted up XR650R for us to ride. Zac we couldn't have done it without the Goat HQ. Kent, thanks for keeping us headed the right direction, you need to get a dirtbike and join in the fun. John, thanks for the snacks and watch those checkpoints (ha!). Morgan you a bad mamajama and general badass. Lucas (and Lucas' wife) thanks for changing those tires & bringing that soup! Thank you Jacob for running around all night shooting photos in freezing weather!
Big thank you to the Over the Bars Gang and volunteers for putting on a great event. We really appreciate the effort that goes into preparing the course and running an event like this.
Special thanks to Mark at Task Racing who made sure we were set up with great lighting in time for the event. Having a quality light setup made all the difference when heading out of the pits at 3 AM!
See you on the trail~
