Carolyn Blevins contacted me about leading her and her husband Rodney to the land of his ancestors. Jonathan Blevins was one of the first settlers in the area and had a hand in building the original cabin at what is now known as Charit Creek Lodge in 1816. That part of the cabin has been incorporated into the lodge and is still standing today. Rodney is a direct descendant of Jonathan Blevins. Some of the axe marks in the logs possibly could have even been made by him. We hiked to Jake’s Place, a popular backcountry campsite, where some of the stones from the fireplace of the cabin of Jacob Blevins once stood are still visible. We saw Twin Arches and the beautiful mountain stream, Station Camp Creek, the life blood of the Blevins’s Homesites.
