The French relative pronouns preceded by the neutral pronoun CE (les pronoms relatifs) ce qui, ce que, ce dont, and ce … quoi, are used to talk about something unspecified . Ce qui will replace the subject. Ce que will replace the direct object. Ce dont will replace a verb starting with the preposition de, and ce ... quoi will replace all the other prepositions.
