We finished our trip to Poland, but before leaving this country, which has truly surprised us and whose visit we recommend, we went to visit one of the so-called Church of Peace. Before reaching the church we stop at the Gliwice Radio Tower, which in addition to being the tallest wooden tower in the world, has its place in history, since on the eve of the Second World War, it played a small role when German troops faked a false attack by Poland, justifying along with other incidents, the invasion and the start of the war. After this review of recent history we arrived at Swidnica, where we found one of the Churches of Peace, the result of the peace achieved after the Thirty Years' War, which allowed Protestants to build churches although the majority worship was Christian. The conditions for this were quite demanding, but surprisingly, in less than a year three of these churches were built, of which two are still standing. Specifically, Swidnica is the largest wooden church in Europe, with a capacity of 7,500 people, and although its exterior is sober, the interior is superb, with a large number of paintings framed in wood, a beautiful altar or several balconys at different levels for the faithful of the richest families, which together constitute a magnificent and spectacular example of ecclesiastical baroque. But our travels don't end here. See you in the Czech Republic, where we will visit the north of the country and its capital Prague.
