A1 Class Peppercorn pacific, no 60163 "Tornado", pulls The Cathedrals Express from London Paddington to Plymouth on Saturday March 9th 2013.
The train is seen at Twyford Station, picking up passengers and departing at 8.55am.
This was Tornado's first public outing of 2013 after a period of winter maintenance, and she is still looking great in her new(ish) blue livery. Since being completed in 2009, Tornado has carried Apple Green and BR Green liveries, as well as an initial stint in light grey primer. Apple Green is seen as being her "main" colour, and other colours will be rotated between spells in that.
There were two steam excursions through Twyford this morning, as an hour later Tangmere came through with The Cotswold Venturer (I haev uploaded a separate video for that). Soon, steam will be banned temporarily on the GWR mainline as they do the engineering works to electrify the line, so after this month it will be a while before we see this sight again.
