The Independent Motor Dealers Association is 7 years old today
Founded the 5th of November 2017 by 6 Independent Motor Dealers and an Industry expert, the association has gone from strength to strength since its inception.
Now boasting over 1500 members, the FREE to join IMDA has the support of over 60 partners providing members with product and services, many exclusive to IMDA member only.
The association provides members with support such as FREE Legal Advice, an employment and HR helpline, a Service Support Network, members masterclasses, exclusive Motor Trade Insurance and direct IMDA contact with the DVLA to assist with any issues members may have.
Current IMDA Chairman Umesh Samani said “ It’s amazing, when we started out 7 years ago who would have thought we would get to this position today, I can only thank the partners who have supported us each year , the founders committee and the current committee for all the efforts they put in behind the scenes, and of course the members who have joined and support each other with their advice and knowledge.
The last 12 months has seen the IMDA membership grow by over 30% year on year with over 500 new members joining. The year started with Umesh collecting the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2023 Car Dealer Used Car Awards for the work he does with the IMDA and his businesses, Specialist Cars Stoke and the Harris Motor Company. The IMDA also received a special mention in the Car Dealer Power Extra Mile Award, capping off what so far has been a fantastic 12 months for the association.

This is just the beginning, and we will work away to ensure the IMDA continues to grow and provide more support, services and a voice for our members”
