The Capo d’Acqua in Abruzzo, Italy is used to irrigate the surrounding fields. The water flows from the mountains into a storage area which was created in the 50s and is then pumped on. In this area were also two mills. The ruins of the mills are now found in the 8-meter-deep lake. In the lake there is a constant temperature 8-10 degrees Celsius – until the day before the earthquake in Emilia Romagna (400km far away) – the temperature suddenly rose to 14 degrees Celcius.
