SPRINGSIDE PAPER MILLS BELMONT – 10 ACRES RESIDENTIAL
In the mid 19th Century paper-making became a major business in the UK. Briefly a dye works in the earlier part of that century, this Spencer family site (under Charles Turner) was sold to Canadian company Kruger after 150 years of operation. Despite care in running the business (see below, for example, the image of the guard-dog graveyard) the factory closed in 2002, and Kruger left the UK around 2010.
