We purposely incorporate the barrier with holes to demonstrate the worst case scenario for use of lights and its effect. If the barrier was white or off white like most residential walls the results would have been much worse due to splashback. 200 lumens is more than enough. If you opt to use a rifle for home defense, the average residence's size does not warrant using a light with more than 200 lumens. We were shooting outdoors and 200 lumens works just fine.
